Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to be able to read music?
While we do use printed sheet music and sing in mixed-part SATB harmonies, you do not need to be able to read music fluently. In fact, may of our members don’t read music. However, you might be surprised at how well you can read it without knowing.
What kind of music do you sing?
We sing music from every time period of Western Music all the way from Baroque, to African American Spirituals, to Modern Contemporary.
How often are rehearsals and are they mandatory?
Once we release the rehearsal start date, we rehearse every Thursday at 7 at Eaton High School. Traditionally we take the summer off and we always have holidays like Thanksgiving and Maundy Thursday off. While we are a volunteer group, attendance is important. We need as many singers present as possible, but we are understanding.
Is there an audition required?
No! We are a non-audition group. We just want to sing and make music together without the stress of a full audition.
